There are so many books I’m excited about, so I’ll definitely keep doing Waiting on Wednesday. With that said, here’s my pick that I can’t wait for.

Title: Bad for You
Author: J. Daniels
Publisher: Forever
Publication date: January 23, 2018
Summary (via Goodreads): Shayla Perkins isn’t the kind of girl who makes the same mistake twice, especially when it comes to Sean “Stitch” Molina. So when he gives her the world’s biggest rejection, that’s it—she’s done. Until the sexy, silent, unavailable Sean makes Shay a very personal offer. Of course, it still doesn’t mean he’s interested in her. Or does it?

Sean has done things in life. Bad things. And he’s paid the price. All he wants now is to make up for his past by doing good in the present. And no one deserves more good than Shay. Beautiful on the inside and out, Shay is the kind of woman who should be cared for and protected—especially from a man like Sean. He’s tried to keep his feelings for her in check, but a single, reckless impulse pulls them closer than ever before.

Soon the two are sharing their biggest dreams and satisfying their deepest desires. But what will happen if the only way to truly give one another want they want most . . . is to let each other go?

Why I Chose This Book:

I just finished the first book in this series, and enjoyed it. I’ll probably be reading the second book early next year. Finally, I requested this eARC from Netgalley. Hopefully I get approved for it!

Title: You’ll Miss Me When I’m Gone
Author: Rachel Lynn Solomon
Publisher: Simon Pulse
Publication date: January 2, 2018
Summary (via Goodreads): A moving, lyrical debut novel about twins who navigate first love, their Jewish identity, and opposite results from a genetic test that determines their fate—whether they inherited their mother’s Huntington’s disease.

Eighteen-year-old twins Adina and Tovah have little in common besides their ambitious nature. Viola prodigy Adina yearns to become a soloist—and to convince her music teacher he wants her the way she wants him. Overachiever Tovah awaits her acceptance to Johns Hopkins, the first step on her path toward med school and a career as a surgeon.

But one thing could wreck their carefully planned futures: a genetic test for Huntington’s, a rare degenerative disease that slowly steals control of the body and mind. It’s turned their Israeli mother into a near stranger and fractured the sisters’ own bond in ways they’ll never admit. While Tovah finds comfort in their Jewish religion, Adina rebels against its rules.

When the results come in, one twin tests negative for Huntington’s. The other tests positive.

These opposite outcomes push them farther apart as they wrestle with guilt, betrayal, and the unexpected thrill of first love. How can they repair their relationship, and is it even worth saving?

From debut author Rachel Lynn Solomon comes a luminous, heartbreaking tale of life, death, and the fragile bond between sisters.

Why I Chose This Book:

Rachel’s a sweetheart, and I’ve been excited for this book since I first heard the announcement deal. The cover is gorgeous, and the summary makes me want a copy right now. I’m so excited to get my hands on this debut book.

Title: Roomies
Author: Christina Lauren
Publisher: Gallery Books
Publication date: December 5, 2017
Summary (via Goodreads): Marriages of convenience are so…inconvenient.

Rescued by Calvin McLoughlin from a would-be subway attacker, Holland Bakker pays the brilliant musician back by pulling some of her errand-girl strings and getting him an audition with a big-time musical director. When the tryout goes better than even Holland could have imagined, Calvin is set for a great entry into Broadway—until he admits his student visa has expired and he’s in the country illegally.

Holland impulsively offers to wed the Irishman to keep him in New York, her growing infatuation a secret only to him. As their relationship evolves from awkward roommates to besotted lovers, Calvin becomes the darling of Broadway. In the middle of the theatrics and the acting-not-acting, what will it take for Holland and Calvin to realize that they both stopped pretending a long time ago?

Why I Chose This Book:

I’ve enjoyed what I’ve read by Christina Lauren so far, especially Autoboyography, so I can’t wait to read more from this duo of authors. The summary sounds amazing, and I really like the cover even though it might be kind of simple. I still have quite a bit to read from these ladies, so yay for that. My future self can’t wait to dive in.

Title: The Cruel Prince
Author: Holly Black
Publisher: Little, Brown Books for Young Readers
Publication date: January 2, 2018
Summary (via Goodreads): Of course I want to be like them. They’re beautiful as blades forged in some divine fire. They will live forever.

And Cardan is even more beautiful than the rest. I hate him more than all the others. I hate him so much that sometimes when I look at him, I can hardly breathe.

Jude was seven years old when her parents were murdered and she and her two sisters were stolen away to live in the treacherous High Court of Faerie. Ten years later, Jude wants nothing more than to belong there, despite her mortality. But many of the fey despise humans. Especially Prince Cardan, the youngest and wickedest son of the High King.

To win a place at the Court, she must defy him–and face the consequences.

In doing so, she becomes embroiled in palace intrigues and deceptions, discovering her own capacity for bloodshed. But as civil war threatens to drown the Courts of Faerie in violence, Jude will need to risk her life in a dangerous alliance to save her sisters, and Faerie itself.

Why I Chose This Book:

This one sounds freaking fantastic based on the summary, and I’ve read a couple books by this author, and really enjoyed them. I’m not a huge fantasy reader (I gravitated towards contemporary romance), but I’ve been trying to read more. And this one is definitely one of my most anticipated releases for 2018. I love the cover even though it’s pretty simple, and I’m glad this one will be at least a trilogy, because I think I’m going to get hooked on the story and want more!

Title: Say You’ll Remember Me
Author: Katie McGarry
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Publication date: January 30, 2018
Summary (via Goodreads): When Drix was convicted of a crime–one he didn’t commit–he thought his life was over. But opportunity came with the new Second Chance Program, the governor’s newest pet project to get delinquents off the streets, rehabilitated and back into society. Drix knows this is his chance to get his life back on track, even if it means being paraded in front of reporters for a while.

Elle knows she lives a life of privilege. As the governor’s daughter, she can open doors with her name alone. But the expectations and pressure to be someone she isn’t may be too much to handle. She wants to follow her own path, whatever that means.

When Drix and Elle meet, their connection is immediate, but so are their problems. Drix is not the type of boy Elle’s parents have in mind for her, and Elle is not the kind of girl who can understand Drix’s messy life.

But sometimes love can breach all barriers.

Fighting against a society that can’t imagine them together, Drix and Elle must push themselves–Drix to confront the truth of the robbery, and Elle to assert her independence–and each other to finally get what they deserve.

Why I Chose This Book:

I really enjoyed the first two books of the Thunder Road trilogy by this author (haven’t read #3 yet), and so I’m super excited to read Katie’s upcoming book. This one reminds me a little of The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson and Defending Taylor by Miranda Kenneally with the daughter to a political figure plot point, but this one definitely sounds unique still. As far as the cover, the colors and typography of the title really stand out to me. I can’t wait for this one to be on my shelves!

Title: Love, Life, and the List
Author: Kasie West
Publisher: HarperTeen
Publication date: December 26, 2017
Summary (via Goodreads): Everyone knows Abby Turner is in love with her best friend, Cooper Wells. Including Cooper Wells. But despite what people tell her, it doesn’t affect their friendship. And she’s practically over it, anyway. What she really can’t get over is when her boss at the local museum tells her that her paintings lack heart.

Art is Abby’s passion and she hopes her future as well. She is determined to change his mind and earn her way into the upcoming exhibit at the gallery. So along with her family’s help, she compiles “The Heart List,” a series of soulstretching experiences that are sure to make her a deeper person and better artist in six weeks or less. When Cooper decides to complete the list along with her, she realizes this list is expanding her heart in more ways than one. Maybe she needs to start another project.

Love, Life, and the List is about a girl who, in an effort to bring more emotional depth to her art, compiles a list of soul-stretching experiences to complete with her best friend—a boy she also happens to be in love with.

This is the first in a set of three standalone books with crossover characters.

Why I Chose This Book:

All the Kasie West books I’ve read so far have been so cute and fluffy, and this one sounds like no exception. I’m here for it, and I can’t wait for her to publish another book. Speaking of, I should probably finish the few of hers I haven’t read yet. If you’re looking for a good YA (young adult) contemporary romance author, definitely check out Kasie! Also, can I just say that I adore that cover?

Why I Chose This Book:

The summary alone sounds amazing, and the hottie on the cover doesn’t hurt either haha. I’m always looking for more romance in my life, so I definitely want to check this one out. It looks like the paperback is already released, but not in stock, so tomorrow grab a Kindle copy instead.

Title: Now Is Everything
Author: Amy Giles
Publisher: HarperTeen
Publication date: November 7, 2017
Summary (via Goodreads): Now Is Everything is a stirring debut novel told in alternating THEN and NOW chapters, perfect for Sarah Dessen and Jennifer Niven fans, about what one girl is willing to do to protect her past, present, and future.

The McCauleys look perfect on the outside. But nothing is ever as it seems, and this family is hiding a dark secret.

Why I Chose This Book:

This sounds like it will be an interesting, heart-wrenching book. I have to be in the mood to read it, but when a summary says perfect for Sarah Dessen books, I’m pretty sure I’ll enjoy it. Sarah Dessen was one of the first YA authors I read.
