Paleo Power

I’ve never done a discussion piece where I talk about what’s going on in my life, but I figured it was a nice way to close out the last couple weeks of 2017 (i.e. one of the crappiest years ever). I won’t make this too long, I promise.

 

I started doing Paleo (caveman diet) on October 24th. I’ve always eaten pretty unhealthy, and I’m a picky eater too, so that never helped matters. My go to foods were pizza, tacos, spaghetti, chili, burgers, chips, etc. I wanted to lose weight, and eat healthier, so I decided to go on Paleo after my mom tried it, and liked it.

 

Fast forward a couple months to now (I’m writing this post in mid-December), and I’ve lost just over 15 pounds in 8 weeks. Not super amazing results, but I’m happy overall. My Paleo diet makes sure I eat more vegetables, and good fats. And as an added bonus, I’ve given up diet soda; this coming from a person who used to drink 1-2 a day.

 

As hard as some days are, like when people at work constantly bring in treats that I can’t eat, I’m proud of how well this is going. I haven’t gotten off track once, so I’d call that a success. I’m going to keep at this until I can’t. And as a reward to myself, I’m going to try and figure out healthier Paleo recipes for my favorite foods, so I’m not depriving myself.
